School Uniforms: Yes or No?

YES!
In the public school system there should be school uniforms.  My main reason for school uniforms is that having uniforms can help prevent bullying.  Lots of kids get made fun of and bullied because of the clothes that they wear.  Unfortunately, some kids get made fun of because they don't have the most expensive or up-to-date clothing.  Having school uniforms would help ease this problem.  All of the children would be wearing the same clothing, so then there would be no teasing occuring because they don't have the clothes that are "in style."
Also, school uniforms can save parents money in the long run.  This would be especially helpful for lower income families.  Parents wouldn't have to worry about buying all kinds of clothes for the school year because they will only have to spend enough money that would buy a couple of uniforms.
I personally feel that this will also save kids time when getting ready in the morning.  There are a lot of us that spend too much time in the morning deciding what to wear.  This can cause us to be late to school.  If we didn't have uniforms, then we would not be wasting time in the morning debating what to wear.
These reasons are why I am for school uniforms.

  1. I agree completly with you on this issue Faith. I always wanted to go to a school that had school uniforms when I was younger. Strange, I know, but I was always one of those kids that got teased because of their clothes. I think that school uniforms would help a lot of kids focus more on their school work and day to day activties and less on what they are or are not going to wear. School uniforms would decrease bullying and help grades excel, so I agree we should all say yes to school uniforms.

  2. I agree also. In a school with uniforms, school is actually about learning. School has become so social. It's all about what you're wearing, who you're friends with. Students who had to wear uniforms would have to focus on school, they wouldn't worry about what they were wearing or if other kids would judge them because they couldn't afford what was in style for that week. Schools are always going to have "clicks" sadly, but this would be a way to cut down on that and have students focus on school only and not what's going on around them.
